Oops...I mean gainfully employed. Freudian slip, I guess? Yes, the rumors are true. I have a bona fide job- Or shall I say career. Next week I will embark on my journey attempting to teach teenagers (a.k.a glorified toddlers) a thing or two about science. I will be teaching at a charter school located in Phoenix. The school is called Arizona School for the Arts, and I am thrilled. Here is a link to their website http://goasa.org/
I will have both 7th and 8th graders to deal with. Although my first choice was high school, so I could teach chemistry, I am just pleased as punch to be in the classroom. The school is unique, in its small size and philosophies. All the students are involved in some kind of arts (ballet, drama, music). I am additionally eager to see their performances throughout the year. My first official day is February 4 (next Monday), and which I am positive will present ample blogging opportunities for your amusement!
Meanwhile, while I am busy trying my hand at being a fancy career lady, James has his work cut out for him. He occupies his time with work, school, and keeping up with my ridiculous antics. Luckily, this weekend we are looking forward to hitting the slopes with Mike and Erin. Might I add, that lift tickets are outlandishly priced!
As much as I have enjoyed my somewhat requisite and warranted sabbatical for the past couple of weeks I am just as excited to start my new adventure…and get paid for working again. Some may ask what I have done to keep myself entertained; here are a few of the highlights:
- Temple Tuesdays with Monica, my mom, and Nancy (followed by a delicious lunch)
- Filling out endless applications for various school districts
- Catching up on an assortment of slightly obtuse, yet fascinatingly incredible television shows (namely Rob and Big, Ellen, Project Runway, Saved by the Bell reruns, you know the drill). I also caught glimpses of shows that I hate to watch and love to hate- My sweet 16 definitely tops the list!
- Cleaning; something I love and loathe. Mostly love though. I blame it on my Grandma.
- Not getting up before the sun comes up. Let’s be honest, I didn’t get up every morning at 5 am to go jogging or make breakfast for James. I did however, get up and get ready before the sun went down everyday.
- Frequented my utopia- Target (pronounced tarr-jhae)

I keep on forgetting to tell you! Lisa did my page for me. I just picked out from the scrapbooking papers that I have and scanned them into my computer, and then sent them to her. She went into my account for me and did it. I like them a lot better now. See you later! I am going to the snow!!! Yay!
