One wedding and a Funeral

This past weekend we (that fam- sans the two littlest boys) ventured up to Utah for another wedding. This time it was Stephanie and Eddie...Finally! They have been dating for ever now. That girl has so much patience. The wedding was beautiful, and so was the happy couple. They looked amazing, and it was so great to see family. My only complaint (there's always at least one) was the stinkin' weather. There was snow on the ground on Thursday morning. I did not pack for cold weather. My mom and I just got a pedicure and there was no way I was going to cover up me newly painted toes. I was open-toed bound! I survived with the help of a jacket or to, but seriously Utah- It's May- GET WITH THE PROGRAM!!!!

After wedding festivities the fam threw a shower for mommy-to- be Monica on Saturday. As usual, she looked super cute and pregnant all wrapped into one! However, I didn't snap one pic. I'm awful! Anyway, Sunday was the trek back home...in the car...for 12 hours. However, not a bad gig with the whole back bench of the beastly van for James and I to share. We never seem to get enough time together anymore. Sometimes we just need to be stuck together for 12 hours in such a small proximity!

The only downfall of the entire weekend was the absence of Snelgrove's burnt almond fudge ice cream in my stomach. It's the best, and unfortunately, it appears as though it's gone...forever! We searched every grocery store in the Salt Lake area, but to no avail. I know you think we are losers for spending our time in search of ice cream, but you nonbelievers just don't understand because the sweet taste of Snelgrove's has never graced your smackers, and your life will never be complete because of it. Yeah- it's that big of deal. I feel I need closure; like a memorial, or funeral service of some sort...

Carly!! I am sooo sorry it snowed here in Utah for your visit. That was very rude of Utah to do that to you. I come to you with some very sad news. Dryer ice cream bought out everything Snelgrove. It just happened this year and what's left of Snelgrove is what's left till, yep, gone FOREVER!! As soon as I saw a picture of Snelgrove my heart ached for you and not to be able to enjoy your favorite ice cream!! Glad your trip was good! And I am glad you presented your toes for the world to see... you have to after a pedicure!!

It was great to see you and I still think you need to be "deathly ill" on August 12th. Snow in May is not all that uncommon in Utah, what is weird is 100 degree plus weather in October in Phoenix. To each his (or her) own! Work on the August 12th excuse,I mean, what is the school going to do to you, fire you??? Isn't there a teacher shortage in Arizona? Who would be so dumb to fire a cute teacher like you? Those hormonally charged teenage boys would stage a rebellion!

As soon as I heard that Snelgroves was selling out, I promptly ran to the store to scoop up my fave...Mountain Lake Raspberry. I bought everything they had, but sadly, it is now gone (the frowny face with the colon and the parentheses just doesn't do it justice!).

Anyway, I have this motto: the weather does not dictate the shoes. You have to stand your ground in this Utah weather and wear some peep toe pumps in the snow from time to time (or everyday in my case)! So kudos to showing the weather who's boss and sporting the pedicure anyway!

Its so nice to get away and see distant family and friends- even if the weather is being a stinker. Sorry for the loss of your beloved ice cream. I am one of those unfortunate to have never tasted it. Lets just hope that ol' "you can't miss what you don't have" theory works cause I'm feeling a bit cheated! I'm glad you and James got some time in the back of a huge van. Wait...That just didnt sound right...

What? No mention of your awesome cousin Natalie and hanging out with the Harris family? Lame!
